We continuously enhance our products to improve energy efficiency and help our customers significantly reduce power consumption during operation.
Environmental Sustainability
Micropower design and develop sustainable, efficient, and safe products.
Smarter Products, Lower Energy Use
Products
At Micropower, sustainability is a cornerstone in the way we design and develop our products. Through our structured Sustainability Guidance, we actively evaluate and make conscious choices regarding efficiency, materials, and chemical use. This ensures that our products contribute to long-term environmental responsibility while maintaining the highest technical performance.
CO₂ Impact
As part of the electrification, our positive impact is to provide efficient and optimized battery systems that create value for our customers. We address the negative impact through long term targets that reduce or eliminate the impacts.
In 2021, Micropower committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2045. As part of this commitment, the company set an interim goal to achieve carbon neutrality in own operation by 2030 (Scope 1 & 2).
Fossil Free Facility
In 2025, we moved into our new 25,000 m² headquarters and production site, designed for efficiency, sustainability, and well-being. Powered entirely by renewable electricity, heated by fossil free district heating, and supported by a rooftop solar plant generating 460 000 kWh annually. The facility reduces electricity dependence and enables detailed tracking of energy use between production and operations.
A timber-framed office lowers our carbon footprint, while EV charging stations, green outdoor areas, and stormwater ponds enhance the environment. Local suppliers and reused materials further cut emissions. Inside, modern workspaces, shared areas, and an innovation center foster collaboration, innovation, and engagement.
CSRD - Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
Micropower is impacted by several Green Deal initiatives, especially the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Micropower has completed a double materiality analysis and reporting system setup in 2024.
New Battery Regulation
The Regulation applies to Micropower and we have been working with the battery regulation for several years. Multiple functions are involved in interpreting the requirements and applying them to Micropower and our products.
Work is ongoing with Battery Passport and the specific CO₂ calculation requirement. Throughout the process, we consulted Intertek Sweden for regulatory requirement assessments.
