Senior Mechanical Engineer

Are you a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer? Would you like to lead the design and development of battery modules for Micropower’s next-generation energy storage systems?

Micropower is an international company headquartered in Växjö, Sweden. With strong in-house expertise, we drive the development and production of efficient and intelligent lithium-ion-batteries, charging systems and power converters. We are present in Sweden, the USA, Germany, Finland, Italy.
 
What you'll do 
In this role, you will contribute to the mechanical architecture, thermal integration, structural performance, and design-for-manufacturing aspects of lithium-ion battery modules. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and validation to ensure the module meets key targets for performance, safety, and cost targets. Mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and contribute to long-term technical strategy. You will also contribute to project timelines by setting component time plans and delivering to meet critical project milestones.

Requirements:
• MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering
• GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and tolerance stack-ups  
• Extensive knowledge of designing for high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, die casting) 
• Widespread experience of performing DFMEAs 
• 3D and 2D development using CAD (Inventor is a merit)
• Knowledge in designing towards structural, thermal, vibration, and IP targets
• Knowledge of EU Battery Regulation (2023/1542)
• Professional proficiency in Swedish and English
 
Additional experience we value:
• Most likely you have had a leading role before (preferably within battery development).
• Prior experience in Battery module development is a merit
